The Perception bar at the swanky W London hotel brings the same exuberant energy from the surrounding streets of Soho inside to a fanfare of applause. Rings of lightbulbs hang dramatically from the ceiling, there’s possibly the biggest disco ball we’ve ever seen looming ominously over red leather seating and a green neon sign warns you ‘normal gets you nowhere’. The cocktails are easily as dramatic, with two pages of colourful elixirs to choose from that’ll arrive either in a midnight black glass, smoking or stacked high with candy floss. The Champagne magnum section of the menu and the Lois O'Hara art afternoon tea, gives you some idea of the clientele, but whoever happens to be there – it always feels like there’s some sort of party happening, they’re open late and this is a true representation of Soho!
