What to look forward to at Bar Convent Berlin...

Bar Convent Berlin will take place from 14-16 October straight after London Cocktail Week. In addition to a diverse training programme and exciting exhibitors, the industry gathering of the international bar scene once again promises a number of highlights for the bar community.

Every year, BCB is known for showcasing the latest top trends in the industry and bringing them to life. This year, the team around Event Director Petra Lassahn thought: ‘All good things come in threes!’ They are therefore spotlighting three exciting trend themes from the bar world and dedicating special highlight areas to them on the exhibition grounds.

Get to know & love whisk(e)y

Passionate whisk(e)y fans, or those who would like to become one, should not miss the ‘BCB Whisk(e)y Embassy sponsored by Woodford Reserve, Jack Daniel's & Schweppes’ around this year's Spirit of Honour! In addition to delicious cocktail creations from the popular Hamburg ‘Collab Bar’, visitors can also expect a great education programme. Of course, the whole thing would not be possible without a strong partnership: BCB has been able to win over the passionate whisky(e)y expert and spirits author Becky Paskin and her self-founded OurWhisky Foundation. This is the world's first non-profit organisation to support, recognise and empower women in the global whisk(e)y industry. With their expertise in all aspects of this special spirit, the team is putting together a varied and exciting programme so that this year's BCB visitors can expand their knowledge of whisk(e)y.

Premiere at BCB: Focus on Wine

This year, BCB is also celebrating a true premiere: for the first time, the topic of ‘wine in bars’ is taking centre stage with its own special area in the Palais. Together with education partner ‘KALK&KEGEL’, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the diverse world of wine and gain valuable knowledge in this special discipline.

‘We want to familiarise our visitors with the world of wine and its diversity, as a high-quality wine selection offers great added value for any bar. Sometimes a guest might like to enjoy a good wine instead of a cocktail. All the better if the bars staff is then also knowledgeable in this area,’ explains Petra Lassahn.

Amaro Bar from London says ‘Yes’ to Low & No!

But that's not all: a visitor favourite is returning in 2024 - the ‘BCB Low & No Bar’. The trend theme, which has become an integral part of bars around the world, will once again be brought to BCB with its own pop-up bar - this time with none other than the team from the ‘Amaro Bar’ in London led by Elon Soddu.

The bar, which is located in the Kensington district, combines exceptional service and attention to detail with cosiness and an intimate atmosphere. Low & No has also long been an integral part of the bar team's everyday bar life. Their bestselling cocktails include low creations such as the ‘Mandarin Garibaldi’ or the ‘Modena Highball’ with bourbon, strawberry water and balsamic vinegar.

Discover, educate & experience

There will once again be plenty to discover around the highlight areas: around 500 exhibitors will be spread across six exhibition halls, presenting their latest products and taking visitors on a variety of taste journeys for three days. Exciting new brands can once again be discovered in the ‘Young Guns Area’ and the ‘Emerging Brands Area’.

Of course, further education is also at the centre of BCB as usual. Visitors can look forward to a broad and varied programme on a total of seven stages and education areas. Loyal BCB visitors will certainly notice a few innovations in the stage concepts: For the first time, the Main Stage will be located in the Rotunde in Hall 16, where you can watch presentations and panels by well-known bar experts as usual. This year's programme includes Alex Francis, Anne Linden, Jordan Hughes, Carina Soto Velásquez, Priyanka Blah and many more.

On the new ‘BCB Workshop Stage’, visitors can get active themselves. After all, the focus here is entirely on interaction and hands-on elements. The ‘Brand Stage’ is also new to the programme. This is where exhibitors present their own educational topics.

And if you still haven't had enough after BCB, you don't have to go home just yet! As every year, some of the best bar teams from all over the world will be coming to Berlin in 2024 to organise guest shifts in the city's hottest bars.

If you don't want to miss out on all this, you can still get your tickets for BCB 2024 now!
