Bar Briefing Document : Hosting an Event

HOSTING AN EVENT

Running an event as part of London Cocktail Week is a fantastic way to promote your venue and gain meaningful interactions with the festival’s audience of discerning drinkers. There’s also no pressure to run an event - it’s entirely optional!

London Cocktail Week is a platform - and as one of our bar partners, anything you host will become an official part of the festival. Whilst we will not be involved in the running of your events, we are available as a resource to chat through your ideas. If and when you’re ready to submit your event, you can do that HERE.

You are able to partner with any drinks brand that you choose to help support your event. If the brand you choose to partner with is a sponsor of London Cocktail Week - we will list your event free of charge within our official London Cocktail Week Event Timetable.

We’ll also add a ‘click-to-buy’ link on your event listing page for the sponsoring spirit (via The Whisky Exchange). If the brand you choose to partner with isn’t a sponsor of the festival - that’s no problem - but we will list any non-sponsor products by their spirit category, rather than their brand name. This applies to the event name as well.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

Events submitted before the “EVENT SCHEDULE LIVE” announcement (10 SEPTEMBER 2024) always perform better than events submitted after this. Do not underestimate how important your event listing is.

The better the description of the event, the more people will want to attend. Your event listing is also an opportunity to tell your brand story. Having a good event picture is crucial and can make a huge difference to the success of your event.

To reiterate - it is entirely free to host a sponsored event as part of London Cocktail Week. We are here to support the London night time economy and work in partnership with you to showcase the absolute best of our city. Note: We also do not take a cut of your ticket sales or any affiliated sales during your event.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY

Submitting a good lead image will help your event stand out, increase visits to your page - and means you’re more likely to be a sell-out! The image should be landscape. The website is responsive so this does not need to be a specific size. However, the specific dimensions if you do want to create something bespoke is 1180px X 385px

This image is automatically cropped to square for the Event Schedule landing page - so any wording on the image is advised against. The image first and foremost should be eye-catching. It can be a strong branded image, or something designed, but needs to communicates a true sense of your event and what people might expect if they attend.
