Back not by popular demand - this year our Not a Real Party™ sees THREE takeovers in one night.
First Up, it's ShayMish Behind the Stick. Hamish Smith, Editor of CLASS Magazine and Shay Waterworth, Editor of Drinks International, will be making their bartending debuts (if we're not counting any failed pub shifts in the early 2000s). Expect intense sense of humour failures and shots of tequila to kick start your evening. They’re on the graveyard shift - 6pm - 7pm.
They’re passing the baton on to The Cocktail Lovers - the gorgeous Sandrae Lawrence and dapper Gary Sharpen, who together will be celebrating the impressive 50th issue of their fantastic magazine whilst pouring Champagne probably pretty slowly. They’ll look great doing it though from 7pm - 8pm.
For the final hour, Hannah Sharman-Cox and Siobhan Payne - aka HandS - co-founders of London Cocktail Week, are BACK stirring (pre-batched by professionals) Martinis. They promised that their ‘Takeover’ debut back in the heady days of 2023 would be the first and last time they'd be getting behind the bar - but, taking inspiration from Simply Red’s numerous last-ever-concerts - they will once again be brandishing their bar spoons.
Rest assured that all other drinks will be expertly prepared by the stellar Nobu bar team - headed up by CLASS Bar Manager of the Year Sophie Bratt, ready for perfect service - as expected.
And the key piece of news that no one has been waiting for - NOT A REAL DJ Jake F Burger, will be back on the decks, playing the eclectic mix of bangers we have come to love and expect from him - but mostly Miley Cyrus.
As per last year - the whole event should be completely wrapped up by 9pm and have you wandering off into the not-quite-dark-yet evening because we’re all getting on a bit.
All drinks will be served at the festival price of £8, unless we completely end up in the weeds.
Reservations recommended via the Nobu website.
