Dominican rum Brugal 1888 is teaming up with Alma Bar and Emily Lynam, the founder of Yougi, to bring together the craft of handmade candles and the aromas of Brugal. Steeped in 135 years of rum mastery, Brugal 1888 combines the rich flavours of bourbon and sherry casks through its double-ageing process.

Alma’s bar manager, Tony Pescatori, has created two autumnal Brugal 1888 cocktails where each guest can gather inspiration from for their candle creations. During this 75-minute craft class, you will learn from candle making expert and Yougi founder, Emily, all about fragrance and the art of creating your own scent – so don't worry if this is your first time trying candle making!

You will start by learning about fragrance families and what top, heart, and base notes are. Emily will then share tips on creating a natural and effortless fragrance with oils inspired by the flavour notes of Brugal 1888 rum and the special cocktails created by Tony. After that, it will be time to blend your own unique scent using different essential oils. To finish, you will pour your own 170ml candle to take home. Walk away with your bespoke scented candle and a sense of zen!

Tickets inlcude a Brugal welcome cocktail (non-alcoholic options are available) and your very own candle. Brugal cocktails will also be available for the rest of the evening at £8.
