WHY WE LOVE THIS BAR

If you are looking to be transported back to the 1800’s for a luxury experience and a taste of Victorian grandeur, before jumping on the Eurostar, then this is the perfect place for you. Found within these brick walls are the Booking Office 1869 - a marvellous cocktail and brasserie bar and the decadent Gothic Bar.

The incredibly elegant Booking Office 1869 is vast! There are low level tables for guests to gather with friends, armchairs, stools facing the bar and more secluded areas to sit which creates an aura of intimacy despite it’s high ceilings. The carefully placed palm trees, candle-lit tables and cosy yellow-lighting dotted about the venue truly demonstrates the grandeur of Victorian architecture. The drinks menu is endless, with the cocktail choices paying homage to the 1800’s but with contemporary twists.

Then the decadent Gothic Bar - named in a nod to the building's Gothic revival architectural style - is found tucked away and is filled with great stone carvings, gold leaf and velvet - and where they specialise in eau de vie. In honour of the building's Gothic Revival style and being the Gateway between London & Paris, the menu is inspired by ingredients synonymous to both cities' history and culture. Whether you’re waiting for a train or making the journey especially - these venues are worth seeing!
