The Bar at Sea Containers Restaurant
Southbank
WHY WE LOVE THIS BAR...
Becoming somewhat of a destination in it’s own right on the South Bank, thanks to the amazing food & drink offerings within it’s walls, the Sea Containers is a stunning space and the bar inside the restaurant is no exception. Designed by that clever chappy, Tom Dixon, this visionary hideaway can be found by following the vast copper wall that gives the illusion of a ship’s hull round to the restaurant. It’s no surprise that there are slight nautical themes running throughout the hotel due to the area’s history as a bustling dockland and in the bar you’ll find a bright yellow submarine hanging proudly over the bottles – a replica of an actual vessel and a nod to the Beatles. Head here in the week for a relaxed setting to enjoy a Champagne cocktail overlooking the action either through the large windows or from the beautiful outside terrace overlooking the Thames. Or head down at the weekend for a bit more of a buzz and enjoy a bottomless Bloody Mary or Prosecco brunch - with seasonal dishes that are designed to be shared.
