WHY WE LOVE THIS BAR...
Spread out across the entire downstairs lobby of the Hoxton hotel in Southwark, you’ll find Albie. Handily located near the tube station and Blackfriars Bridge, this is a great drop-in spot at any time of the day. A light and airy space filled with plants, relaxed table settings, armchairs, sofas and bar stools to plonk down in and while away an afternoon or evening. There are three bars here, so a drink is never far away and the ever-changing roster of kitchen takeovers means you can always grab a plate of something tasty. The usual effortlessly cool Hoxton essence runs throughout, there’s never a waiter far from your table and nothing is too much trouble, plus the reception is in the middle, which adds a nice buzz to the place. If you’re after a nightcap, their rooftop restaurant Seabird upstairs has stunning views over the city, but it’s always advised to book.
