A favourite of ours, mainly due to the famous taxidermy monkey smoking a cigarette, which joins the family of other quirky touches throughout this bar that just seem to work. Not much to behold from the outside, but step in to find vintage French posters brightening up exposed brick walls and – we never thought we’d say this – more tasteful taxidermy. Hip hop will be blasting, you’ll be greeted with a big smile from the very friendly staff and even when it looks full it’s always worth poking your head in, because there’s normally a table or stool somewhere waiting. The cocktail list changes daily and offers fresh twists on classics, plus the best damn bar food – make sure you try the grilled cheese.
