WHY WE LOVE THIS BAR...
This Bermondsey veteran has been around for a good stint now and still doesn’t disappoint. Since opening in 2007, owner Paul Mathew has changed tack slightly - from the original concept of showcasing some of the best ingredients from around the world to a much more local focus. Almost all the drinks here have been created in London, including Paul’s own foray into the non-alcoholic sector, Everleaf. They can even say, that the majority of these has come from a 2km radius, which is pretty impressive. Behind the ornate white bar, you’ll find 18 taps – 12 of which pour an ever-changing roster of local beers and 6 of which serve cocktails made only with London spirits. There’s also a separate cocktail list too with nothing having a silly price tag and the only wines on offer are from London, surprisingly. We love the forward-thinking, but still approachable nature of this bar and the fact that it’s all about our beloved London!
