WHY WE LOVE THIS BAR...
This has to be one of our all-time favourite date bars in King’s Cross, found tucked away north of King’s Cross station past the towering office blocks, Granary Square and next to Dishoom’s restaurant here. The whole place just oozes cool, the world-famous Living Voice sound-system reverberates out the sultry sounds of vinyl throughout and if you’re lucky you’ll spot something being recorded in the Sound Studio, for a number of podcasts and radio shows. The cocktails are always a pleasure, simple twists on classics, like a strawberry take on the Spagliato or a Bramble and Daisy combo with an injection of apple aperitif. If you’re peckish, the small plates and pizza tray bakes that are a gentle reminder of student days, are designed to complement the drinks, not detract from them. The well-executed collabs with the likes of their neighbouring Everyman cinema give you yet another reason to visit and the low, sultry lighting and crooning tunes will keep you there until late. A must from us.
