We have worked tirelessly for a decade to put our city firmly on the map as the cocktail-capital of the world and we now occupy a unique position as the conduit between brands, bars and our thousands and thousands of guests. As such, we feel it is our duty to use our platform and our voice to provide a solid, trusted foundation to help rebuild our incredible industry and get the London bar scene back where it should be as soon as possible.
Having spent months discussing the options with both drinks brands and bars - we have decided to take some positive, sure-footed steps to ensure our festival provides support to all those involved - to instil a sense of security when it comes to socialising safely and to reignite the fun into the hospitality scene after such a difficult few months.
As always, we want London Cocktail Week to continue to be a platform for like-minded brands and venues to create innovative activities, attract eager consumers, and create relevant and worthwhile content that challenges both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic amateurs. But – more importantly - we want the 2020 festival to help ensure as many venues as possible survive this crisis.
As such we are pledging a number of commitments and changes;
- Our first commitment is to help get our bar partners back on their feet through support from drinks brands and getting as many people as deemed safe through their doors and enjoying their delicious drinks. A majority of the bars we work with are small owner-operated businesses hard hit by the pandemic and really do need your support.
- Our second commitment is our social responsibility and the safety of our guests - and we will be working closely with City Hall to ensure any venue we partner with meets a set of required standards. This also sadly means we have made the difficult decision of cancelling our Cocktail Village - and for that - we’re so sorry. In good news – for the safety of our guests we have also extended the festival to a month!
- Our third commitment is maximising the number of people that can take part in the festival - whether they feel comfortable venturing into bars or not by offering a really great London Cocktail Week At Home experience.
- Our fourth commitment is to bring the London bar scene together to celebrate the start of better times, and remind everyone why London is the best city in the world!
Please know - our bar partners AND our sponsors have come together in unanimous support of these steps and we’re all working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that, as we march into our second decade, we will be bringing you the most considered and most important London Cocktail Week to date.
London Cocktail Week is set to take place over the month of October - however if there is a second lockdown, we will postpone or pause. If that happens, your tickets will be fully transferable or refundable if preferred.
